Your Best Is Yet To Come

There are many people who believe that there is something wrong with a man or a woman who's not yet married, particularly when they are in their late 30s (including myself). However, I believe that the time I am spending single, I am getting an opportunity to weed out the spiritual, emotional and financial VAMPIRES that exists, which can be a threat to happiness and personal growth.

The Bible speaks about being "unequally yoked" (2 Corinthians 6:14) . People often get married to satisfy the desires of others, rather than following the WORD. I have had conversations with married people who have said that they regret getting married at such a young age. Getting married has limited their growth spiritually, educationally and professionally. When you choose a particular path, that path shapes the journey you want to have in this life. Now nothing is wrong with being married and being part of a union of love and mutual respect; but while you are on that journey call life, there should be no regrets. Our choices determine our destiny.

Nothing is wrong with WAITING....While waiting, we should be asking for what we want specifically and preparing to receive it. Even though I am not yet married, I pray that I would receive a mate who possesses the Fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). I am looking for a partner who’s loving, joyful, peaceful, understanding, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and has self-control. It would be very easy for me ask God for a man who is handsome and rich; but that handsome rich man can have a nasty personality. Would I then be happy? I believe that I would receive a partner who as the qualities of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and maybe that person would also be rich and handsome.

Nothing is wrong with SORTING and WEEDING out...This ensures that there are no mistakes made. We are like artists and our life is the canvas. An artist makes sure that the right colours and stencils are chosen for the final design. When an artist is not happy with a piece of work, it is discarded. We as individuals are allowed to choose what elements we want in our lives in order to produce the final design.

Nothing is wrong with waiting to be BLESSED...I want the best and I believe that we all do. God has stated that he would expand our territory and bless us with unwavering abundance (Deuteronomy 28:1-14). Some people receive those blessings almost immediately in life, whilst some have to wait. For those persons who have to wait....PREPARE. Prepare to receive that wonderful husband or wife by being appreciative of the actions of others. Prepare to receive that managerial promotion in work by dressing the part. Prepare to make that purchase of a new house by choosing the colours of every room in your house.

Once you BELIEVE, you would only receive the BEST God has in store for you. Believing and knowing it is going to happen, ignites events in our lives that would lead to the desired outcome. In the beginning when God was creating the earth, God said "Let there be light," and there was light (Genesis 1:3). We were made in the image of God and having His likeness (Genesis 1:26); therefore just like how God was able to create, we can also create. Whatever we want for our lives we must state clearly what it is, believe and let it happen.

Don't worry; YOUR best is yet to come.
